Who's your Daddy!

Our speaker this week of course needs no introduction with the years that he served as our Youth Pastor here. It’s always good to have Pastor Mike Reyes preach in CPBC as his messages always incite faith! This past Sunday was no different as he preached from Romans 8:14-17. We were reminded that as adopted sons and daughters of the most high God, we have the spirit of sonship. And when we have the spirit of sonship, we will have no room for a spirit of fear because we know who our Father (in heaven) is!

Also if we know the love of Christ, we will not lack anything. As Paul prayed in Ephesians 3:19, “and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God and not of fear.” Hence, when we pray for anything with this security of who the Father is, there will be no fear and it will come to pass! And again in 1 John 4:18, “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” His love for us drives out all our fears.

So in essence when we are secure in our Heavenly Father, we can have every confidence that He is on our side. Whatever our fears, problems or heartaches, the love of the Father to us as his adopted children and co-heirs in Christ gives us the assurance to operate with authority and peace over our difficulties and lives!

While Mike was speaking another miracle was taking place right under his nose… literally. The model and make of the cordless handheld microphones we use in this church cuts off almost immediately when a red LED light appears, signifying that the batteries have been depleted. Sitting in front, I noticed that the red light came on in the middle of this sermon at 11:10am and immediately notified the sound crew. The team sprung into action with another mic and ready batteries. But the microphone that Mike was using went on with depleted batteries for another 30 minutes – until his message finished! What a powerful testimony of who God is! I am confident that the LORD wanted us to see this little miracle to remind us that with faith in His love for us, He will keep us going even though we have already been depleted!

Let’s all rise up in faith for the LORD to believe Him for miraculous wonders in our lives this week because He loves us as His sons and daughters and this love drives out all fear! Have a great week ahead.
