Senior Pastor's Message

butronsWelcome to Community of Praise Baptist Church!
We’re all about relationships.

We found out something about the God and His purpose in creating us. God Himself lives in a perfect relationship of joyful love, beautiful unity and humble service. We get a glimpse of this relationship in Genesis 1 where God says, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness” (Gen 1:26, emphasis added). God’s conversation with Himself tells us something about how he thinks and lives and functions. He is a relational God!

In the New Testament, Jesus came to Earth to show us who God is and what He is like. Jesus is, in fact, God in the flesh and He is the perfect example how God wants us to live—in great relationships of joyful love, beautiful unity and humble service! The connection that Jesus enjoyed with God the Father and the Holy Spirit overflowed into life changing realtionships with his disciples and this unleashed them to become people who changed the world.

We describe our vision and purpose by saying: “We’re all about relationships.” Our focus is on building big people who grow in great relationships and this happens in three ways:

1. Connected to God. Salvation is a restored connection to God through his Son Jesus. He generously offers love, forgiveness and new life to everyone! Everything changes as we plug into this new life and stay connected through God’s Word and power of the Holy Spirit!

2. Committed to Grow. Fruitfulness and success are not accidental but the result of an intentional process of lifelong learning and maturing. We are committed to growth in every dimension of life, starting with our most important relationships!

3. Compassion to Go. Our connection to God and commitment to grow is best expressed as we go and share God’s love and salvation with others. Our mission begins at home but takes us to the ends of the Earth. Join us in the great adventure of loving people into God’s family!

Let me assure you that we are far from perfect but we are determined to approach following Christ and pursuing His kingdom in ways that are far more about relationships than about duty and performance.

Interested? I want to invite you to join us in a journey of relating to God and one another in ways that are life changing and liberating.

It really is all about relationships . . . . .
